| The St. Alban's Fire Department is comprised of twenty-five members under the command of Fire Chief Frank Collier. The firemen receive training from the Office of the Fire Commissioner and also from inhouse training programs. All members are outfitted with the GLOBE brand of firefighter's gear which offers the best protection and comfort available today.

The department has a 1995 GMC pumper truck which is powered by a 427 gasoline engine and capable of carrying 500 gallons of water. It carries 1000 feet of 1.5 inch hose, 2000 feet of 3.5 inch hose, two extension/roof ladders, three Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units, a portable pump, chain, reciprocating and rotary saws for gaining access and ventilation, a portable generator for scene illumination, a piercing nozzle for hard to get at areas, a foam nozzle, tarpaulins for damage control and other specialized equipment.

In addition, the department has a van which is used as a personnel transport and for carrying other equipment used in First Aid and extrication, supplementary SCBA units and spare air tanks. The department has the only Holmatro Rescue Board in the area. This board can be used for rescue on very thin ice, open water or a combination of conditions. It is equipped with a kayak paddle, extension pole, throwing line, ice picks and an underwater viewing port. This board is very lightweight and can be used as a stretcher or slide if need be. The board is attached to shore by a lightweight rope which enables the onshore crew bring the board back to shore with the casualty.
